The takes a classic cocktail and uses sous vide to kick it up a notch! The sous vide mint julep comes out brighter and cleaner than when done traditionally and if packed full of minty goodness. Plus the sous vide mint syrup can be stored for a few weeks and used in a variety of other cocktails.

This recipe comes to us from Chef David Pietranczyk from Breville Commercial. You can also learn more about how to make sous vide simple syrups.

For the Sous Vide Mint Julep

1. Combine the Bourbon, mint syrup, and bitters in julep cup. Swizzle for 5 seconds.

2. Layer with crushed ice, swizzling after each ice addition.

4. Top off with a healthy "snow-cone" of ice. Insert a straw near the mint so you can smell it as you drink from the straw.
